Hello and welcome to my little online world, my name is Laura Mason and I am a designer based in the South of England, and have been drawing and creating since I was a wee nipper.
I initially studied Art & Design at college, and it was during this time that I fell in love with all things textiles. This passion led me to the Royal School of Needlework; there I studied the fine art of hand embroidery and slowly began my love affair with tea. I graduated in 2005, not only with a diploma but with an Award for my Coronation Goldwork received from the Worshipful Company of Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers.
Since then I’ve gained valuable work experience working at Philip Treacy’s London Studio, Lulu Guinness head office, and have worked alongside a very talented film and TV costumier my aunt on various projects.
I now like to make wonderful little embroidered items, in lush cottons, linens and threads.
I currently work full-time for a Trade Association which whilst far removed from my creative upbringing, I still find time to continue creating wonderful, one off creations that show the training I received at the Royal School of Needlework.
One day I would love to set up a little independent gallery so that I can show off other talented artisans, because I know so many that do not get their chance in the limelight that I know that they deserve.
